William "Bill" Apici Obituary

William “Bill” V. Apici, of West Greenwich, RI and North Port, FL, 78, passed away on November 15, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ralph and Teresa (Ciccone) Apici. Bill graduated from LaSalle Academy and attended URI. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the Providence Police after 25 years of service.

A loving husband, devoted father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife and soulmate Kathleen “Kathy” Oliver Apici, his children Christine (Tony) Meglio, Roberta (Elizabeth) Apici, William Apici Jr., John (Catherine) Shorey, and Linda (Shawn Kennedy) Paolillo and cherished grandchildren, Nicole (Keith) Hernandez, Anthony Meglio, Madison Paolillo, Michael Paolillo, and Emma Paolillo. Bill was the brother of Ralph (Dianne) Apici and John (Judy) Apici and the late Janice Apici.

In addition to being an avid golfer, Bill loved preparing traditional Sunday dinners for his family where he jokingly rationed the sausage and meatballs.

His funeral will be held Monday, November 21st at 9:30 AM from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in SS. John and Paul Church, 341 South Main Street Coventry, RI. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 20th from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the Funeral Home.
