Wayne Dimbleby Obituary

Wayne R. Dimbleby, 70, died at his home in Cranston on February 3, 2026.

Wayne was a proud father and grandfather, an accomplished small engine mechanic, a pilot, a RIPTA employee of over 30 years, and the life of the party. He was gregarious and extroverted, always making friends everywhere he went. He lived life to the fullest and had a way of encouraging others to do the same. He was a lifelong learner and tinkerer. He always had a new hobby, side business, or project to keep him busy and engaged. Whether it was day trading, coin collecting, golfing, skiing, flying, volunteering with Civil Air Patrol, repairing snowblowers and lawnmowers, assembling solar panels, or learning guitar, he never stopped learning and trying new things.

He leaves behind his ex-wife, Lisa Gilbert, and their three children, Eric (and Erin) Dimbleby, Ryan (and Karen) Dimbleby, and Allison (and Chris) Pavao. He is also survived by his beloved Shih Tzu, Shelby, his sister Diane Kelso, and his grandchildren Nolan, RJ, Izzy, Amity, and Ava. He is predeceased by his parents, Bob and Elsa Dimbleby, also of Cranston.

All services will be private. Donations can be made to Lend a Helping Paw Shih Tzu Rescue
