Thomas A. Holmes, 85, of Cranston, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2025 at West Shore Health Center, Warwick. Born in Newport, RI, he was a son of the late Alanson and Anita (Gramolini) Holmes.
Tommy was a bartender for decades at McShawn’s Pub on Cranston St., and later at the Laurel Hill Social Club. He also worked as a painter for Kelly & Picerne. He was an avid card player and always like to “play the odds” with a friendly wager on just about anything.
His family meant the most to him. He leaves his daughter Leona Heidrick; his sisters, Anita Smith and Catherine Bradford; his granddaughter Samantha; four great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Matthew Holmes and the brother of the late Alanson Holmes, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation, Monday, Feb. 24 from 8am until 9am in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mark’s Church, Garden Court, Cranston. Burial is private.
