Thelma M. Carpetis (Martin) 93, of Cranston passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving sons, Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, Providence. She was the wife of the late Michael James Carpetis. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle (Miller) Martin.
Thelma is survived by her sons James Michael Carpetis and wife Donna, Robert George Carpetis and wife Sheryl, Paul William Carpetis and was the mother of the late Thomas Carpetis. Devoted grandmother of Danielle Tully, Lindsey Karch, Melissa Kuffel, Michael Carpetis and Jon Michael Carpetis and great-grandchildren Eleanor Kuffel, Theodore Tully, Rhea Karch and Joseph Kuffel. She is also survived by her beloved niece MaryEllen McKenzie Thelma was the sister of the late William J. Cox, Richard Martin and Dorothy Pascone. .
Thelma was a private instructor for tap dance, ballet, modern dance and baton. She was a very hard worker and often seen at Tony’s Pizza and Laki’s Pizza. Thelma was a very active volunteer serving the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation. She loved her children and family foremost, making any sacrifice needed to advance anyone in her family.
Her visitation and funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 7th from 9-10 a.m. with a funeral service at 10 a.m. at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence. Please share memories and condolences at www.WoodlawnRI.com
