Teresa "Terri" (Munson) Giviens

Teresa “Terri” (Munson) Giviens, 76, of Warwick, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital. Born November 23, 1949, in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Hilding K. Munson and Alice R. (Donilon) Munson.

Terri lived a life full of music, not only in her career as a vocalist, but everywhere she went, she carried a song. She used her voice as an instrument to make others smile, laugh, and heal when it was needed. She had the biggest, most vibrant personality that she shared with everyone she came in contact with. Everything she did was from the heart.

Terri’s love for music was equally matched by her compassion to love and help others, she volunteered years of her life as an advocate for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, using her own experience as a survivor to educate students on driving responsibly. In her later years, she took on the role of a caregiver, sharing her time with senior citizens who needed some assistance with daily living.

Only one thing mattered to Terri more than her life passions – her son Ryan, she loved him more than anything in the world and she reminded him of that every chance she got. Her love did not end at her son, she extended her love to her siblings, family, and her dear friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her beloved son, Ryan Giviens, her niece Kristin Munson (Brandon), her nephew Hilding Munson (Alba), her sister-in-law Judith Munson, and many cousins and countless friends.

Terri was predeceased by her brother Hilding T. Munson and her sisters, Patrice A. Munson and Lynn Mary Munson.

There will be a Celebration of Terri’s life on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston from 5:00 until 9:00 PM. We hope you come and celebrate her beautiful life.
