Susie (Esposito) Stimma, 89, of East Greenwich, formerly of Providence, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side, Friday morning, December 23, 2022. She was the wife of the late Silverio “Chef Stimmo” Stimma.
Born September 3, 1933, in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Esposito and Angelina (Vertucci) Piccirillo.
Even though Susie was blind, she worked every day, lastly at INSIGHT. She loved listening to her music, from Frank Sinatra to tango. She also loved listening to her books on tape. She will be remembered as a kind and loving soul and would give the shirt off her back to someone in need. She was an awesome cook and was a great “mom”.
She leaves 4 daughters, Maria Stimma, Suzanne Tessaglia, Annette Stimma, and Sylva Lemieux; her son-law, Michael Lemieux; and her granddaughter, Tess Palma. She is the sister of John Esposito, Sal Piccirillo, Guy Piccirillo, the late Pat Esposito and the late Ralph Piccirillo.
Her funeral will begin at 9am Friday, Dec. 30, from the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday morning from 8am to 9am in the funeral home.
