Susan Mary Parker, 57, of Worcester, MA, formerly of Cranston, RI, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at her sister’s home on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Born November 23, 1966, she was a daughter of the late James W. Parker, Jr. and Eleanor (Del Bonis) Parker.
Susan was the sister of Amy Parker Pignataro (her husband Richard Pignataro) and the late James W. Parker, III; the loving aunt of James Joseph Parker, Parker Pignataro and Luke Pignataro; and the fiancé of Nicholas Lowther.
Susan was the Program Director at the Judge Rotenberg Educational Center and had been there for over 38 years. Sue saw JRC through countless struggles and successes and never wavered in her commitment or loyalty to what she believed was lifesaving treatment for some very challenging developmentally disabled students. She was a fierce and dedicated advocate for the students and their families. She was committed to ensuring that the students received the best possible outcomes; and it was her passion to see them succeed when no one else or nowhere else could help them. Sue worked hard every day to fulfill the mission of JRC with love, compassion, joy and sheer determination. JRC was her home away from home and her second family.
In addition to her love for JRC, Sue (Susie, Susie Q, Auntie Susie) loved her family, including her sister, Amy, brother-in-law, Rick and nephews, Jimmy, Parker & Luke whom she adored, as well as her loving fiancé’ Nick, and Nick’s daughter Mikaela. She loved her German Shephard Cali, good music, a glass of wine or two, good friends, football and especially Tom Brady!
Her funeral will begin at 9am Friday, May 3, from the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Dr., Cranston. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home Friday morning from 8am-9am.
