On April 28, 2024, Steven Scaglione lost his battle with cancer after a 10 year courageous fight.
Born in Providence, Steve was the son of the late Louis A. and Carmella (Quartochi) Scaglione. He was a 1980 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Steve was employed by nVent in Warwick until his illness forced his retirement.
Steve leaves his devoted wife of 17 years, Valerie (Parente) Scaglione and his 5 children, Ron Scaglione, Brianna Scaglione-Martinez, Michael Piscione, Brianna (Piscione) Metz and Tayla Piscione. He was the cherished Papa to 8 grandchidren and beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by his brothers, Carmino, Louis and Michael Scaglione.
Steve was a passionate New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan and would light up any room with his smile and even bigger personality. He will be missed by all who knew him.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION will be held Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
