Silvana (Fiore) DiMaio, 88, of Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, December 4, 2022. She was the wife of the late Anthony DiMaio.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Lucia (Sabetta) Fiore.
She worked as a teacher’s assistant with the Providence Public Schools for many years before retiring. She enjoyed summering in Narragansett for more than 50 years, was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She was the beloved mother of Lisa Macchioni and husband Stephen, Maria Petrucci, and Toni DiMaio; the grandmother of Michael Macchioni (Nathalie), Nicholas Petrucci (Bonnie), Cory Macchioni, Jenna Fallago (Paul); and the great-grandmother of Madison Petrucci, Michael and James Fallago and Mila Macchioni. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Luigi and Philip Fiore.
Her funeral will begin Wednesday, Dec. 7th at 10am from the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston St., Cranston. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 8:30am until 10am.
