Sandra “Sandy” A. Jennings, 81, of Cranston, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, May 28, 2026, at the HopeHealth Hospice Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of John Jennings for 55 years. 

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Nichola and Anne (Lenardo) Patto. 

Sandy was a graduate of Rhode Island College in 1966. She was a dedicated teacher and principal to the Cranston Johnston Catholic Regional Schools, Arlington School, and Immaculate Conception School. Sandra was a “doer”, she always put forth great effort in everything she did. She loved taking part in several different sports like Softball, basketball, racketball, and running (just to name a few). She was incredibly competitive. As a hobby, she got into real estate, she was so successful she was able to arrange for her entire family to live blocks away from each other. Most of all Sandra loved spending time with her family and friends.

Besides her husband, Sandra is survived by her dear children, Jacqueline A. Jennings-Lee, and David J. Jennings and his wife Brianna. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Abigail Jennings, Sophia Lee, Adam Jennings, and Harrison Lee. She was the aunt of Kristin Blake, and dear friend to Beatsey, Linda, Susan, and the late Phylis and Pat. Sandra was predeceased by her late brother Rocco Patto. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston. Her funeral will begin Wednesday, June 3 at 9:00 AM at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Dr., Cranston. Inurnment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
