Salvatore Gentile Obituary

Salvatore Gentile, Sr., 89, passed away at home in Cranston, Friday June 18, 2021. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Rosanna (Guarino) Gentile. He was the husband of the former Patricia Gentile and the late Linda Gentile, who was the mother of their children.

Sal installed windows and doors for Builder’s Aluminum for many years, he also had his own business, Sal and Son’s Windows and Doors. He was the first to average 150 in Duckpin bowling in the State of Rhode Island in 1979 and 1980. He bowled in many leagues over the years. He enjoyed playing poker at Foxwoods and local games.

Devoted and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by four children, Salvatore Gentile Jr. and wife Lori of Coventry, Kim Gentile of California, Robin Gentile of Florida, and Dean Gentile of California. Eight grandchildren, Gina, Sal, Jason, Christopher, Melissa, Jacob, Gabriel, And Kyle and thirteen great-grandchildren, Sal, Diamond, Malakai, Angelo, Elon, Autumn, Lucca, Seyniy, Destiny, Niya, Avalyn, Angelina, and Maverick.

He was the brother of the late, Mario, John and Joseph Gentile, Josephine St. Amant, Viola Cazzarro, Peggy D’Andrea, Rosalina D’Amico, Theresa Villa, Jean Ribezzo, Anna Piacitelli, Mary Kemmler and Helen Scittarelli.

His funeral will be held at 9:00 AM, Thursday from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. His visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8:00 PM at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home.
