Rose (Marra) Cambio, 91, of Johnston, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, Saturday, September 13, 2025. She was the devoted wife of the late John “Jack” A. Cambio, the man she loved deeply. They were inseparable and were married 62 years. She and Jack grew up living next to each other and never spent a day apart until his death.
Born April 30, 1934, in Providence, she was a daughter of the late James and Maria (Iannuccilli) Marra.
A devout Catholic woman, Rose’s life centered around her faith in all matters. Rose was very close with the Franciscan nuns. She loved caring for her family as a homemaker and was known for her wonderful cooking skills. Rose was a receptionist at the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary.
She leaves her four children, Therese “Terri” R. Hurrell and her husband Glen, John A. Cambio and his wife Sharon, Robert M. Cambio and James P. Cambio and his wife Judy; her eight grandchildren, Maria, Nick, Christopher, Alex, Chrissy, Ricky, Lea, and Syd; her five great grandchildren, Aria, Aaron, Dylan, Zack, and Glenney; and several niece and nephews.
Rose was the sister of Maria Costantino, the late Filomena Ando, and the late Lydia Procopio.
Her funeral will be held at 9:30am Thursday, September 18 from the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 17, from 4pm until 8pm in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
