Rosalie S. Mazza, 81, of Cranston, passed away Monday, April 10 at Morgan Health Center, Johnston. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Spadaro) Mazza.
Rosalie was a jewelry worker. She was sweet and caring, dedicated herself to being the best mother she could be to her son, Christopher J. Mazza, with whom she lived. She was loved by many and known to all as “Sophie” from the Golden Girls.
Besides her son, she is survived by one brother, Anthony Mazza, and his wife Linda of Ohio. She was the aunt of Damien Mazza of Ohio, Kendra Kelling Mazza of Washington, Marlene Velasquez of Las Vegas, and eight great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation and funeral service, Monday, April 17 from 9:30 – 11 AM with a funeral service at 11 AM in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
