Robert "Bob | Butchie" J. Casey

Robert “Bob | Butchie” J. Casey, 82 of Cranston, passed surrounded by his loving family Friday, January 3, 2025.

Husband of Eleanor (Kehoe) for 60 years. Father of Robert W. Casey, and the late Scott P. Casey both of Cranston. Brother-In-Law and father figure to Christine Goyette. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Tanya Gesualdi, Robert W. Jr, Craig and Carissa Casey, two great grandchildren Annabella and Mae-Lynn. He leaves behind many nephews, nieces and godchildren. Also in mourning are his true friends and all those who knew him.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Robert and Ida (Quirini) Casey. Brother to the late Fran Webb and Joyce Martin.

He was a self-employed carpenter, and after his retirement he started scrapping to keep busy.

He liked swimming, his time spent in Newport, traveling, going out to eat, and hosting parties at his home, that was lovingly known as “Casey’s Farm” for over 36 years. Bob took great pride in his home and found solace in nature. Tending to his homestead, moving with his tractor, blowing leaves, tending to the pond or simply just relaxing on the deck. This was his happy place.

He was a humble and old school man. A gentleman but opinionated and not very shy to express it. Sometimes coming off tough but only intended with a caring and loving heart.

Our hearts will miss him. For anyone who knew Bob, they will feel this loss. He was well respected, appreciated, admired, but most of all loved.

Be at peace because you have loved unconditionally and have taught us well.

Calling hours will be held from 8:30 - 10:15 AM Tuesday, January 7 at the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Dr, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
