Richard Sprague, 83, of Cranston passed away on July 30, 2020. He was the beloved husband for 37 years of Phyllis (Persechino) Sprague. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ernest and Caroline (Howarth) Sprague.
Richard was the General Manager for Contact Radio & Paging for 20 years in Providence and later worked as Director of Security for Thrifty Car Rental in Warwick. Richard enjoyed being with people, telling jokes and always offering a helping hand to anyone who asked.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Richard A. Sprague (WWPD) of Warwick. He was predeceased by his brothers, Ernest, Albert and Edward and his sister, Majorie Carlson. He leaves several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. in “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Tuesday, 9-11 a.m.
Due to current state regulations, only 15 people are allowed in the funeral home at a time. We ask the friends and family of Richard who are not attending the burial to consider coming earlier. We thank you for your support and cooperation.
