Richard "Dick" Jordan Obituary

Richard “Dick” Jordan (4/23/48-9/26/24)

Born to Phyllis and Albert in 1948, Dick was a child of Revere Massachusetts, and eventually moved on to Rhode Island in the late 70s where he was the President of the US division of an international manufacturing company. Always the expert salesman, he could sell anyone anything, and in the 80s would hold some of the largest yard sales that Warwick Neck (in Warwick RI) had ever seen. Always with an eye toward impact, the yard sales would feature an 8-foot tall faux-marble statue of a Roman emperor, complete with wreath and spear (“obtained” from the set of the movie Ben Hur), standing prominently by the roadside to draw attention to the deals of a lifetime. Dick was an incredibly intelligent and talented man. He was once ranked 2nd in standing for US National Big-Bore pistol shooting.

Friends will remember his terrific dry humor, his amazing skills as a chef, his willingness to teach and nurture those around him, and his generosity. He was particularly fond of the nicknames he would assign to his friends and acquaintances, such as “Eddie the Finger” and “One eyed Bob”. He enjoyed helping others, doing everything from feeding stray cats to volunteering with the Knights of Columbus. He appreciated the little things in life such as sci-fi TV and films, the occasional trip to Maine, and he had a deep admiration for vintage cars.

Dick passed peacefully September 26, 2024, and is predeceased by his parents, and his lifetime partner Debbye. He is survived by his children Don, Shannon, Albert, and Dakota, and his grandchildren Bruce-Anthony, Ethan, and Conor. Dick also leaves behind Debbye’s sons Bobby Dean and Shane as well as his long-time business partner and friend Peter. He will be sorely missed.
