Richard Orlando Squillante, 78, of Cranston, formerly of Warren and Somerset, MA, passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 5, 2025. He was the very beloved husband of Madeleine (Acosta) Squillante for 40 years.
Born in Hartford, CT, he was a son of the late Orlando John Squillante, MD, and Alice (Tavares) Squillante.
Richard was an Airforce Technician for the United States Airforce. He was very meticulous and methodical, and his work often reflected that. Richard was involved in mechanics, electrical work, and facilities operations management.
Richard was a man of great faith, courage, humor, poetry, and love. He was extraordinarily selfless in nature, always willing to help others. He had a generous spirit and was full of grace. He lived his life in fully living color. His attitude was incredibly positive, because he lived it in the home he loved with his wife whom he loved so very well and completely.
Besides his wife, Richard is survived by his brother; Jerome F. Squillante and his sister; Maria L. Squillante - Gillett, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers; John E. and Gregory F. Squillante.
Richard’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the kind and caring staff at the VA Hospital, especially in Unit 6E.
Relatives and friends are to gather at the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, Saturday, April 26 at 9:30 am. A Funeral Service is to begin at 11:00 am in the Historic Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow. Visitation will be Friday, April 25 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm in the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home.
