Raymond P. Montaquila

March 30, 1947 ~ November 13, 2022 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Obituary

Raymond Montaquila, 75, passed away November 13th. Ray was the beloved husband of Paula Montaquila for 42 years, and the deeply loved father to Raymond Montaquila and fianceé Kaitlin O’Neill, and Meredith and husband Kenneth Antonizio. He was the beloved son of the late Margherita (Landi) and Bartolomeo Raymond Montaquila. He was the proud papa to his adored grandchildren, Gabriella and Mia Antonizio, Raymond Sean Montaquila, and the late Penelope Montaquila. They brought overwhelming joy and happiness to his life.

He is also survived by his sisters, Geraldine Bowering and Elissa Ciarlo, and his brother Thomas Montaquila, and was preceded in death by his sisters Patricia and Mary Linda Montaquila.

Ray graduated from Hope High School and attended the RI School of Design and Providence College. He was a US Army Veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed his work in the jewelry business as a sales executive for many happy years before beginning a career with the City of Providence, where he worked until retirement and made lifelong friends.

He was a proud member of Bonnet Shores Beach Club, where he loved spending summer days surrounded by his family.

At home, you would find him tending to his lawn and tomato garden, or working on house projects with pride and precision. He was selfless, humorous, and a master storyteller. Raymond was a family man. No one ever had to question his love. It was felt fiercely.

Raymond was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. There will never be enough time with the greatest man we had the pleasure of calling ours.
