Ralph J. Velleco, 95, of Cranston, passed away early Saturday morning at Miriam Hospital with his family at his side. He was the husband of the late Gemma Mary (Pece) Velleco.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Raphael and Josephine (Giordano) Velleco, and the brother of the late James Velleco and the late Josephine Clarke.
Ralph, a well-dressed man who wore a suit and tie every day, loved his family, food and sports. He played senior league softball until he was in 60’s. Many will remember him as the drummer for the house band at the former 1025 Club of Johnston.
He leaves his son, Ralph N. Velleco and his wife Pamela; his daughter, Cheryle A. Velleco and her companion, Anthony Marotti; and his grandson, Ralph A. Velleco and his wife Jillian.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 9am until 10am in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery.
