Philip Colin Mills, 56, of Cranston, passed away suddenly Saturday evening, June 6, 2026 at RI Hospital.
Born on August 23, 1969, in New York, he was the son of Hildred H. Mills and the late Philip M. Mills, and the brother of Pablo Mills.
Phil was the proud owner and operator of Cassana HVAC for over 20 years. He was a member of the RI Master Plumber Association for many years. He was truly a “Jack of All Trades”; he could do anything! He valued learning and knowledge and was proud most of all of his Master Plumber and Master Mechanical licenses which he held in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Las Vegas, and Connecticut. At the time of his death, he was studying hard to obtain his licenses in Florida, his home state. He was always the first person family and friends would call when something needed fixing.
Phil was dedicated not only to his work but also his family. He found the most joy spending time with his children and grandchildren, and cousins, and shared a particularly close bond with his cousin Dean Benjamin. Phil will be remembered for the way he loved and lived his life. He always had a big smile, boisterous laugh, and larger than life personality.
Phil is survived by his beloved children Shaelyn Ray, Collin Raso, Cassidy Coderre, Adriana Mills, Ciara Colburn, and Isaiah Mills, as well as his cherished grandchildren Bria, Blake, Sasha, Meadow, Lila, and Cruesoe. He is also survived by his companion of 11 years, Tara M. Canavan. He leaves behind his longtime business partner, Corey Franco, as well as countless others.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 2 from 9:00 until 11:30 AM in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend. Burial will be private.
