Paul Saviano Obituary

Paul Scott Saviano, born February 11, 1965, left us on December 19, 2025 after a long illness, proving once and for all that he was not, in fact, invincible—despite what he may have claimed.

He was a graduate of Dighton Rehoboth High School, Class of 1983.

Paul was predeceased by his mother Susan (Wallberg) Saviano Hayward of Rehoboth and his cherished cat, affectionately named Princess Pooper.

He leaves behind a loving family:  father John Saviano and devoted wife Jacqueline of Warren; sister Lynn Mansfield and husband Dean of Swansea; brother Brian Saviano and wife Patrice of Seekonk;  brother Tim Hayward of Seekonk; brother John Saviano Jr of Cranston; brother Anthony Saviano of Warren; step-brother Daniel Maltais of North Carolina; nephew James Mansfield of Fall River; niece Katelyn Mansfield of Swansea;  niece Melina Saviano; and a legion of friends that tolerated his quirks and will miss him dearly.

Paul was a selfless man, always ready to lend a hand, a listening ear, a questionable fashion tip or a gourmet meal. He approached food with the enthusiasm of a true connoisseur, never shying away from seconds  (or thirds).   Paul truly enjoyed preparing his mother’s famous deviled egg recipe to share abundantly at gatherings. Nothing made Paul happier than spending time with family and friends.

Paul’s wardrobe was a testament to his belief that life is too short for boring clothes.  Although he enjoyed a colorful wardrobe, there were favorites. One certainly being his Russian fur hat worn for many years, a gift from his beloved Auntie Pam.  Paul was also an incredibly knowledgeable gardener who blossomed digging in the dirt producing enviable  results.

Most recently Paul found great joy selling vintage lamps and other oddities. He’d even supplied antique props to movie sets, plays and photo shoots.

Paul’s wit, warmth, and generosity touched everyone he met. He leaves behind a world that is a little less stylish, a little less well-fed, and a lot less fun. His family and friends will remember him with laughter, love, and maybe a few stories of shenanigans to cherish.

Rest easy, Paul. May your closet always be full, your plate never empty, and Princess Pooper forever be by your side.
