Paul Eric Messer

Paul Eric Messer, 26, of Cranston, passed away unexpectedly October 10, 2025. Born in Providence, February 23, 1999, he was the son of Michael and Julie (Messer) Durante.

A dedicated server at Chili’s in Waterbury, Connecticut, Paul was appreciated by coworkers and customers alike for his friendly demeanor and strong work ethic. Beyond his connections in Connecticut, Paul had strong ties to California, a place that held a special spot in his heart.

He was the loving father of Paetyn, who brought him endless joy. Paul had a passion for baseball, football and basketball, always cheering on his favorite teams with enthusiasm. And spending time with his family and friends.

Paul's memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. His love for sports, dedication to his work, and the connections he made across the country will forever be remembered.

Paul graduated from Cranston East High School in 2017, where he made many lifelong friends and cherished memories. He will be remembered for his infectious laughter, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

Although Paul's time with us was cut short, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Paul. You will always be remembered

In addition to his parents, Paul leaves his daughter Paetyn; his brothers, Matthew Collins and Anthony Durante; his maternal grandfather, Cornelius “Bob” Messer and his wife Isabelle Messer; his paternal grandmother, Rosemarie Ruel and paternal grandfather Vincent Durante Sr, his uncles, Vincent Durante and his wife Gina, and Timothy Messer; and many cousins and countless friends.

He was the grandson of the late Paula Jannarelli and Arthur Ruel

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Friday, October 24, from 4pm until 7pm in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston.
