It is with love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia L. DeRobbio-Sammartino of West Warwick, R.I. on June 14, 2026.
Patti was born on October 20, 1951 to Enzina (DeRobbio) Sammartino and Louis P. Sammartino in Providence.
After her first school years at Nelson Street School in Providence, Patti and the family moved to Cranston, R.I. and she attended Woodridge School where she made lifelong friends. Patti’s education continued at Cranston High School West, pursuing writing, theater and the arts. After graduating from Roger Williams College, she worked as a chef and waited tables in various restaurants. She earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from Rhode Island College and worked in Cranston Public Schools as a Social Worker, serving the needs of children and their families in the city. Retirement led to part time social work and a tour director for the Providence Tour Company, leading their Crime & Cuisine tours on Federal Hill in Providence.
Patti leaves behind her sister Claudia, and Claudia’s husband Chris of East Greenwich, R.I.; her nephew Connor, his wife Liz and their daughter Cassidy of Downingtown, Pennsylvania; and nephew Austin of Cranston. Connor & Austin were the light of her life, along with her nephew canines Bert & Ernie and birdie niece Scout. She also leaves her cousins, both here in the United States and in Italy.
No service is planned.
