Nancy Fiorito Obituary

Nancy Fiorito, 89, of Cranston, passed away on February 6, 2023 at Hope Health Hospice Center, just 1 day shy of her 90th Birthday surrounded by her loving family. Born February 7, 1933 in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Domenica (Bertelli) Fiorito.

Nancy was a Jewelry Expediter at Anson Manufacturing for many years before retiring.  She was an active Parishioner of St. Ann’s Church which is now St. George Maronite Church. She could be found planting flowers on the church grounds and actively participating in numerous fund-raising events.

Known to everyone as “Nancy” but to her nieces and nephews as “Auntie Nan”.  Often many of them would joke with her and say we knew we were growing up when we passed her in height with her standing at a mere 4 feet 8 inches tall. She may have been small in stature but had a personality that was larger than life. She had a heart of gold, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Nancy enjoyed entertaining at her home; and was always so happy when the entire family would gather together. She was known for making delicious “Italian Wandies” which she was honored to make for some of her nieces and nephews Weddings. She enjoyed sewing, bowling, bingo, and playing cards. An avid “Red Sox Fan” never missing a game; but most of all she adored her late Fur Baby “Sebastian”.

Nancy is survived by her loving sisters Rose Martone of Providence and Adeline Giuliano of Cranston.  She was the sister of the late Vincent J., Luigi, and Frank Fiorito, Phyllis Donahue, Josephine Breece, and Norma Correra.  She leaves behind many cherished Nieces and Nephews who loved and adored her.

Her Funeral will begin Friday February 10th at 9am from the “Woodlawn” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. George Maronite Church 1493 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4pm to 7pm in the funeral home.

In lieu flowers, Memorial Contributions in her Memory can be made to HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI  02904.
