Michael C. Tanzi

Michael C. Tanzi, 91, passed away Friday, November 17th at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of the late Carmella (Mottola) Tanzi. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Costantino and Luci (Apice) Tanzi. He is survived by his son-in-law Carlo P. Testa and beloved twin grandsons Michael and Jayden Testa, with whom he lived. He was the father of the late Patrick Tanzi and Robin Tanzi-Testa. Michael was the brother of the late Columbia DePetrillo, Gloria Mollicone, Louisa Oliva, Teresa Giacchi and Joseph Tanzi.

Michael Tanzi was a proud United States Army Veteran. He worked in the jewelry industry as a toolmaker. He enjoyed playing Bocce and was a member of the Johnston Bocce League for over 40 years. He was a member of the Santa Maria DiPrata society. A devoted and loving grandfather, he was affectionately known as “Grandpa Mike” not only to his twin grandsons, but their friends as well.

His funeral will be held Saturday, November 25, at 9 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. VISITATION Friday 4-7 p.m. at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home.
