Michael J. Santurri

 ​ Michael J. Santurri, 64, of Providence, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 10th, at a beloved cabin in Vermont where he found great peace and joy. He was the devoted life partner of Michael Gillis, with whom he shared 39 wonderful years.

Born in Providence, Michael was the son of the late John Santurri, Sr. and the late Evelyn (Walker) Santurri. In addition to his partner, he is survived by his brothers, John Santurri Jr. and Steven Santurri, and was predeceased by his sister, Darlene Matteson. He also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews, as well as his cherished fur babies, Noella and GiGi.

Michael worked for many years as an electrician, beginning with Cranston Electric before continuing as a self-employed electrician and property manager. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in nature, fishing, and especially his time in Vermont. He loved his dogs, enjoyed cruises, and had a passion for cooking and great food.

Michael was deeply blessed by the miraculous gift of a kidney transplant from his close friend, Matt Bergeron. In a rare and extraordinary turn of fate, Matt was a perfect match. His selfless act gave Michael the chance to enjoy many more meaningful years—time he spent surrounded by love, laughter, and the people who meant the most to him.

Michael was a dedicated member of St. Augustine’s Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 21st at 10 a.m in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence . Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Kindly note that visitation is omitted.
