Michael Bova

Michael Bova, Jr. ,93 of North Kingstown, passed away, October 5, 2023, at the Scalabrini Villa, North Kingstown. He was the beloved husband for 35 years of Maureen E. (Arruda) Bova and the late Anna (Velleca) Bova. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Michael Bova, Sr., and Jennie (Moretta) Bova.

Michael was in the management Electric Engineer Submarine Signal Division at Raytheon Company, Portsmouth.

Michael was a graduate of URI, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He was an Airforce veteran.

Michael loved the beach, often spending his summers at his beach house in Cape Cod or on the beaches in Aruba. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriot fan and enjoyed going to Foxwood Casino, but most of all spending his time with his friends and family.

Besides his wife, he is the beloved father of Deborah Coop (Peter), Patty Pacitti (William), Michele Brown (Bobby), and Kristin Bova (Dennis Rapko). He was the stepfather of Robert and Michael LaPolice. Michael was the grandfather of Robert Pacitti, Jessica Weaver, Richard Pacitti, Katie Von Maffi, Jenifer McCabe, Michael Guertin Jr., Justin Guertin, Adam LaPolice, and the great grandfather of 14 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Peter Bova and Anna Cerbo. Michael is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 10, at 9:30 AM from “Woodlawn” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Bernard Church, North Kingstown. Entombment will follow in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum in St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation Monday 4 - 7 PM in the funeral home.
