Maureen Clifford Fenner Obituary

Maureen Clifford Fenner, age 76, passed away peacefully May 25, 2026 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the devoted wife of William L. Fenner.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dolores (Ward) Clifford. Maureen was raised in her formative years by the late Grazia Capomacchio, along with her son, the late Emilio Capomacchio.

Maureen lived with a gentle spirit and a heart that gave endlessly. Many would characterize her as sweet, kind, and gentle…she was all that and more.

A graduate of Johnson and Wales, Maureen had a long career in retail, working at the most well-known stores in downtown Providence and a well-known men’s store. She was so successful in her career because she truly loved helping people.

She and Bill enjoyed spending time together in Florida and spending time in Rhode Island with the younger generation, Matthew and Dyrick Curran.

Maureen was an accomplished knitter and group leader for Bazaar on Broadway, always encouraging, “check your work girls” to the newer knitters. Family and friends alike were tickled to see her in political TV ads for her favorite candidate. She brought joy and happiness into every room she entered, something to which we all aspire, but for Maureen it was natural. She was a blessing!
