Matthew P. McKenna

Matthew P. McKenna, 33, of Cranston, RI, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 2, 2026. 

Born in Warwick, he was the son of Doreen (Greco) McKenna and the late Phillip F. McKenna. 

Besides his mother, Matthew is survived by his sister Laura McKenna. He is also survived by his dear Aunt Eileen Bibler and his Uncle Tom Bibler and Aunt Pat McKenna and Aunt Carolyn Greco. Matthew will also be missed by his caregivers from Seven Hills Foundation Andrew and Amanda D’Antico, Kerri Farias and Khiara Farias-Brown. Matthew was predeceased by his grandparents Raymond and Alice Mckenna and James and Madeline Greco, his Uncles Jim Greco, Richard Greco, John McKenna, and his Aunt Lucille Horton. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to all who knew and loved him.

Matthew attended Meeting Street School in Providence for several years. He was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. He was deeply loved for his smile, laughter, and strength.  Although Matthew’s passing is sad, it brings us comfort to know that Matthew is reunited with his dear Papa. 

“We will carry you with us always.”

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 8, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM with a Funeral Service to begin at 6:00 PM at the “WOODLAWN” Funeral home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment is to take place at a later date.
