Mary Simon Obituary

Mary A. Simon, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Fred J. and Eva (Faris) Simon. She was a lifelong resident of the city.

Ms. Simon was employed by the State of Rhode Island for 32 years, retiring as a Human Resources Coordinator with the RI Department of Transportation.  She was the recipient of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation officials award for meritorious public service.

She was a communicant of St. George Maronite Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality.  She was a Partner of Hope at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She enjoyed reading and traveling, and was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox,

She leaves a brother, Fred J. Simon, Jr. of Lincoln (sister-in-law Angela) and nephew Michael J. Simon. She was the twin sister of the late Joseph Simon.

Calling hours are respectfully omitted.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Divine Liturgy of Resurrection Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. George Maronite Catholic Church 1493 Cranston Street, Cranston, RI. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
