Mary (Nicolopoulos) Pereira, of Cranston, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024. She was the wife of the late Leonard Pereira.
Born in Greece, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Penelope (Boustris) Nicolopoulos.
Mary was a wonderful mother, sister, daughter and wife. There was nothing she loved more than cooking for her family. Her delicious Greek food and cookies were coveted by all. She spent many years vacationing with her family. From Disney with her children to Vegas with her sister, she loved it all. Yet she was just as happy sitting home with Lenny watching her “stories” or having coffee with her best friend Vivian Sweeney.
Being a Yiyia was her greatest accomplishment. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart and would do anything for them. “Okay, okay” was her answer to their every request.
Mary was instantly loved by everyone who knew her. Her sparkling personality and quick wit made everyone laugh. She will be deeply missed by all and will live on in her family’s hearts forever.
Mary was a lifelong communicant of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Cranston and would spend every Sunday morning in her favorite pew. She was also a past member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society and loved making her famous Koulourakia for the church bazaar which sold out instantly.
Mary worked for Speidel in Providence alongside her sister Ann until retiring.
She leaves her three children, Cynthia Driscoll Muccino and her husband Steven, Mary Ann Sinapi and her husband Raymond and Anthony Andrade, Jr. and his wife Phyllis. Her grandchildren, Nicholas Driscoll (Mickaela), Bianca Fitzhugh (Eric), Christina Bradshaw (Charles) , Rachel Tremblay (Adam), Anne Sinapi (Steven), Austin Andrade (Eleanor) and Sophia Andrade (Terell) and 8 great grandchildren, Liam, Nora, Penelope, Atlas, Oliver, Charlie, Giovanni, and Lucia. She was the sister of Harry Nicolopoulos and Theodore Nicolopoulos. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ann Hague, Panayota Ashukian and Cristoula Nicolopoulos and her brother James Nickolas.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9:30am until 10:30am in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston.
