Mary C. (Insana) Alpaio-Bessette

Mary C. (Insana) Alpaio-Bessette, 94, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at home January 2, 2025. She was the wife of the late Roland J. Bessette.

Born in Providence, she a daughter of the late Joseph and Carmella (Lupino) Insana.

Maternal in nature, Mary worked in a daycare for many years. She was a former member of the St. Rocco Society and the Oaklawn Grange. In her later years she enjoyed playing Bingo at the Johnston Senior Center.

She is survived by her son Donald J. Alpaio and his wife Janet, her grandchildren Brian and his companion Luisa, Donald and his wife Wendy and David and his companion Marlene Alpaio and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her Sister-In-Law Joan Insana. Mary was predeceased by her sons David and Stephen Alpaio. She was the sister of the late Peter, Joseph, John Insana and Dorothy Neri.

Calling hours will be held from 8:30 – 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 8 at the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston followed by a Funeral Home Service at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
