Marie Calvitto Obituary

Marie (Fusco) Calvitto, 96, of Johnston passed into eternal life on Friday, March 21, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving son and daughter.  She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Calvitto, whom she was married to for 67 years.

She is survived by her son, Louis Calvitto, and his wife, Cindy, of East Greenwich and her daughter, Kimberly (Calvitto) Egan, and her husband, Bill, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. She was the loving grandmother of Christopher Calvitto of East Greenwich, Michael Egan of Atlanta, GA, and Elizabeth Egan of Quincy, MA.

Marie was born in Providence to the late William and Jennie (Iacobbo) Fusco.  She was the sister of Gerry (Fusco) D’Abate of Johnston and the late William, Alfred, and Vincent Fusco, Ann Ney, and Evelyn Denoyelle.

Family was central to Marie’s life. She devoted her life to raising her children while working as a professional hairdresser for many years.  She enjoyed traveling to Europe, especially to Italy with her husband, taking family vacations camping in NH, and cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner on the beach each Sunday in the summertime with her entire extended family.  Later in her life she was a constant and proud supporter of her three grandchildren whom she cherished as she did her own children.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, March 29 at 9:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, Providence. Followed by interment in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 239 Regent Avenue, Providence, RI 02908.
