Maria "Mary" G. (Cappelli) Kane

Mary Kane, 91 of Johnston passed away peacefully Sunday July, 23, 2023 surrounded by her family. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Raffaela (Cappola) Cappelli.

Mary was loved by all those who knew her, she was compassionate, loving, generous, and always greeted you with a smile.  She was happiest when she was with her family, and driving a fast car!

Mary was independent, smart, and a trail blazer. She was a member of the Executive Board of Local 328, and served as Shop Steward and Head Baker with Almacs for 25 years. She mentored many employees and made lasting friends.  Prior to that, she worked in the family owned restaurant, “The Original Cappelli’s” in Warwick.

Mary was the loving mother of Donna J. Kane, Grandmother to Blake M. Cote and his wife Carrie and Mason J. Cote and Great Grandmother to Ireland Grace Cote.  Sister to the late Julia Mooradian, Carmine Cappelli and Joseph Cappelli,  Sister in law to Mary A. Cappelli, Mary Ann Cappelli and the late Arshag (Putt) Mooradian.  She was aunt to many adoring nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 28 at 11:30 AM in St. Rocco’s Church, 927 Atwood Ave, Johnston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital will be accepted, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
