Maria Esperanza Carrera de Mantanico

Maria Esperanza Carrera de Mantanico, 93, of Providence, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, June 29, 2024. She was born in Guatemala and came to the USA to Providence in 1999, where she has lived since.

Maria was an exemplary mother always dedicated to her family and home. She belonged to the Church of San Bartolome for many years. Her mother was the deceased Mrs. Carmen Carrera.

She had eight children, Virginia Mantanico, Francisco Mantanico, Enrique Mantinico, Sonia Mantanico, Jose Mantanico, Lisset Mantanico, Mirna Mantinico and Leticia Mantanico. She also leaves 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Tuesday, July 2, from 4pm until 7pm in the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston. Her funeral will begin at 9am Wednesday, July 3, from the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Bartholomew Church, Providence. Burial will follow at Pocasset Cemetery.
