Maria E. (Picano) Orsini

Maria E. (Picano) Orsini, 96, passed away peacefully at Cherry Hill Manor Monday, March 25, 2024.  Born in Fondi, Italy she was a daughter of the late Alfonso and Consiglio (Fiore) Picano. She was the wife of the late Joseph Orsini.

Maria was a seamstress working for the former Briggs, LTD and Marc Allen until retiring. She found sipping on espresso and listening to Italian music very relaxing. She loved to cook and teach her family how to make many favorite Italian dishes. She was happiest surrounded by her grandchildren, family and friends

Maria is survived by three daughters; Francesca Orsini and husband John Palleschi, Diane Malloy Duszak and Rita Calabro and her husband Daniel. Beloved grandmother of Alexandra, Ethan, Ryan, Meagan, Ava, Rachel and Jake and one great-grandchild.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday April 2, 2024 at 8:45 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. VISITATION Monday 4-7 p.m.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research  Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
