Maria C. Martinez

Maria C. Martinez, 90. of Providence, passed away peacefully at home survived by her beloved family, Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2022. She was the wife of the late Bienvenido O. Cabral. Born in the Dominican Republic a daughter of the late Juan Ramirez and Antonia Fernandez.

Maria was known to be blunt and outspoken. She was remembered for going the extra mile for her family. One of her biggest joys in life was reading the Bible with her loved ones, traveling the world, caring for animals and everyone knows she had a green thumb. Her strong resolve inspired everyone to keep going no matter how hard things got. 

She was the beloved mother of Tirso Cabral, Saily Cabral, Aquiles Cabral, Juan R. Cabral and Sofalis Cabral; the sister of Aristide, Miguel, Andre, Ramon, Juan, Crusita, Teresa, Brunilda and the late Domingo, Fran, and Gertrudy; and the loving grandmother of 17 Grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, on Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 4pm until 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, Dec. 29, at 10am in St. Anthony’s Church, Providence. Burial will be private.
