Maria was born in Pontecorvo, Italy in 1938. She immigrated to the United States in 1953 with her parents, Vincenzo DeVincenzis and Emilia (Colardo) DeVincenzis, and her seven siblings. Maria and her sisters embraced America and loved to watch cowboy movies, American Bandstand and practice the latest dances in her parent’s kitchen. She built a beautiful life in her new country, guided by love, resilience, and deep devotion to her family.
Maria was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Leamy. Together they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage, creating a home filled with warmth, generosity, and faith.
She is survived by her loving daughters: Correen Ranallo of Johnston, Carol Botelho of Cranston, and Cynthia Pagliarini of Johnston and her sons-in-law, Robert Ranallo, Anthony Botelho and David Pagliarini. Maria was a proud and devoted grandmother to David and Ava Pagliarini, for whom she retired in 1999 to lovingly care for.
Maria is also survived by her cherished sisters Rosina Celseti and her husband Damosi, Anna Celseti, and Lucia Loppo, and her beloved sister-in-law Rosa DeVincenzis. She was pre-deceased in life by her brother Pierino DeVincenzis and her sisters Elsa Maglione, Iolanda Trombetta, and Concettina Igetti.
A dedicated and hard-working woman, Maria was a small business owner for many years before retiring to spend more time with her family. In her final years, she was lovingly cared for by her daughters, with invaluable support from her sisters Rosina and Anna, and her sister-in-law Rosa.
Maria will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her legacy lives on in her family and in the many lives she touched throughout her long and beautiful life.
