Magdalena “Leni” Nerstheimer, 96, of Cranston, RI passed away peacefully Saturday morning, June 4, 2022 at Bayview Rehabilitation at Scalabrini. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfons H. Nerstheimer.
Born Nov. 16, 1925 in Ruma, Yugoslavia, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Magdalena (Stolmaier) Dreer. She met her husband in Austria and later emigrated to the United States in 1955. She was a dedicated wife and mother who took joy in caring for her family. When not caring for her family, you could find her tending to her vegetable garden and roses. Her family especially loved her baking, everything she made was made with love. Magdalena was a long-time member of the local German Dramatic Society and sang with the Lorelei Ladies Choir.
She was the mother of Gerold A. Nerstheimer of Cranston, Viktoria Malakie and her husband Daniel of Kailua-Kona, HI, and the late Herbert Paul Nerstheimer; the grandmother of Daniel III, Kristina and Briana; and the great grandmother of Brody and Jacob.
Relatives and friends will be received Thursday, June 9, from 10am until 11am in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, where a funeral service will begin at 11am. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Park.
