Louise Pagliarini Obituary

Louise (Martinelli) Pagliarini, 97, formerly of the Edgewood section of Cranston, passed away January 12, 2024. She was the wife of 65 years of the late Edward W. Pagliarini.

Born March 5, 1926, in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Marie (Leduc) Martinelli.

Louise attended St. Xavier High School and was awarded a full scholarship to Bryant College where she completed a four-year Business Teacher Training Program. It was at Bryant that she met her husband in her senior year.

Louise was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to so many people. She was a long-established parishioner of St. Paul’s Church, where she was a member and past president of the Daughters of Isabella and the Legion of Mary.

She loved to read and was talented with needlework, she sewed, crocheted, and knitted beautiful afghans for her family and friends and enjoyed playing the piano, Clair de Lune being one of her favorites.

Louise loved watching and playing word games including Wheel of Fortune, Scrabble and completed the daily PROJO crossword and jumble puzzles well into her nineties.

She had a deep passion for helping and caring for others. Her gentle, compassionate and selfless demeanor along with her devotion to her faith and God was the basis of everything she did, how she lived her own life and how she raised her seven children. She would spend her entire life helping and caring for everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was the mother of seven children, Edward Jr. (Patricia), Alan, William (Renee), Cathy, Daniel, and Louis (Nancy) and the late Rosemary; the grandmother of Christoper, Michael, Nicole, Kyla, Dean, Jack, Jenna and Mia Pagliarini, Alex Kunzmann, Lauren Durante and Alexis Gilbert. She was the great grandmother of Marcella and Miles Durante and Ruby and Ella Pagliarini. She was predeceased by her siblings, Edward Martinelli, Helen DiSegna, Sr Mary Carmel SMSM, and Sr Mary Evelyn SMSM.
