Louis Orabona Obituary

Louis R. Orabona, 95, of West Greenwich, Narragansett, and Pompano Beach, FL passed away May 1, 2021 at Kent Hospital. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Albert and Lucy (Fasciano) Orabona. Louis was the husband of  Mary M. (Tantimonaco) Orabona, they were together for 61 years before his beloved Mary passed in 2011.

A loving and devoted father, grandfather, and brother, he is survived by three children; Lucille Ann Orabona, Lorna M. Orabona, and Louis R. Orabona and his wife Karen. Cherished grandfather (Papa/Popi) of Elizabeth and Ava Orabona, and Johnna Eunis.  He was the father of the late Albert L. Orabona, and brother of the late Louise DelPrete and Herbert Orabona. He leaves many loving nieces and nephews, especially his loving niece Alberta. Louis also leaves his faithful companion, “Buddy”.

Louis owned and operated Knight’s Liquors in Providence and Johnston with his brother Herbert and sister Louise, a successful established business for over 40 years before retiring in 1997. Lou often talked about how much he missed his nights on Broadway where friends would stop by for conversation.  He was a man of deep faith and showed great devotion by being strong and supportive to both his immediate and extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Providence. Burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul or have a Mass said in Memory of Louis at your favorite church.
