Linda Jean Fleury Obituary

Linda Jean (St. Pierre) Fleury, 77, of Simmons Village, Johnston, formerly of Cranston, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Fleury.

Born November 14, 1948, in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Esser) St. Pierre.

All the years of her life, Linda Jean embodied one singularly defining role: Mother. She cared tirelessly for her children, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and so many nieces and nephews. She was a figure of respite, and opened her arms to all who needed her, sometimes even complete strangers. Linda was full of kindness and grace, though she had a wicked sense of humor and an unparalleled resolve about her. She loved singing country music and reading murder mystery novels. Linda was very connected to the ocean, she loved visiting Newport to spend time by the beach and having lunch at the Brick Alley Pub. She loved her husband Tommy with all her heart, they played Yahtzee every Friday night and sang together. Linda was surrounded by and fostered love in perpetuity.

She was the mother of the late Robert (Bobby) Vota, Donald Vota, Gary Vota, the late David Vota, and Rodney Vota; the stepmother of Brian Fleury, Ann Marie Fleury and Donna Heidrich; the grandmother of Christopher Vota, Matthew Vota, Anthony Vota, Alysha Vota, Bethany Vota, Eden Vota, Valerie Rojas, Stacey Rojas, the late Rodney Vota Jr., as well as Justine (Vota) Gutkowski and Donald Vota III, both of whom she raised as her own. Linda also leaves her sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Pisaturo, Nancy LaPrade, Deborah Buckle, Marion DaSilva and Michelle St. Pierre.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 19, from 4pm until 7pm in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston. Her funeral service will be held at 10am Saturday, June 20, in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, with burial following at Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
