Leon George Stamas, 82, of Warwick passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Saturday April 10, 2021 at Philip Hulitar HopeHealth Center, Providence. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late George and Iphigenia (Vavoulis) Stamatakos. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Siravo) Stamas for 40 years. Leon was a retired automobile dealership business owner.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by three children, son George Stamatakos and wife Kimberly, son Lee Stamas and wife Rina and daughter Andrea Morell. He was the beloved grandfather of Adam Stamatakos, Noah Stamatakos, Lee Stamas, Dylan Stamas, Blake Stamas, Maia Morell and great-grandfather of Owen George Stamatakos. Leon was the brother of Nicholas Stamatakos and the late Caliope Sotirakos and Bessie Poulos.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. in the Rev. Peter Mihailides Center of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence.
