Laurette A. Lefebvre, 80, of Kissimmee, Florida, and formerly of Cumberland, Rhode Island, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at HCS Florida Osceola Hospital with her daughters by her side after a brief illness. Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Langlais) Bedard.
Laurette dedicated her early adult years to raising her four children whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed coaching her daughters’ Boys & Girls Club softball teams. She was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. After moving to Florida Laurette worked in childcare, in food services at a local bowling alley, and as a cashier for Albertsons grocery store. She enjoyed many years of bowling at Brunswick Walnut Hill Bowl in Woonsocket and the former World Bowl in Orlando. She was an avid knitter and dedicated many hours to knitting for her loved ones over the years; each grandchild receiving a full-size blanket knit with her love in every stitch before her hands were no longer able to knit comfortably. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and visiting Disney Springs when her children visited. In her later years her grandson Chad cared for her in her home so she was able to stay at home until her recent illness.
Laurette is survived by her children Lisa Buterbaugh and her husband Paul of North Kingstown, Lee-Anne Jackonski and her husband Edward of St. Cloud, FL, Leo Lefebvre Jr. and his wife Karen of Smithfield, and Larry Lefebvre and his wife Amy of Cumberland; her grandchildren Tanner (Katie) Blythe, Emily (Jason Vessella) and Mitchell Buterbaugh, Chad and Brendan (Amber) Laflamme, Shane Jackonski, and Matthew (Kaitlyn Paradiso), Andrew (Suzana Smith), Madison, and Nickolas Lefebvre; her great-grandchildren Everly and Weston Laflamme, and Rowan Blythe; and her siblings, Marcel, Richard and Andre Bedard, and Claire Robitaille. She was the sister of the late Gilles, Raymond, Fernand “Lefty”, George and Real Bedard, Carmen Handrigan, Simonne Vallee, Pauline Parent, and Aline Lefebvre.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 21, 2023, 10:00 am at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave, Cranston, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am at the same location. Burial will be private.
