Kevin P. McIntyre, 84, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the HopeHealth Hospice Center in Providence, surrounded by the love and presence of his family. He was the devoted husband of Valerie “Val” (DiBiase) McIntyre, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage, partnership, and adventure.
Born in Brisbane, Australia, Kevin was the son of the late Patrick and Doreen (Wright) McIntyre. His early years in Australia shaped his spirit—independent, witty, bold, and endlessly curious. Those qualities carried him across continents and ultimately rooted him in Rhode Island, where he built a life rich with community, purpose, and connection.
Kevin was, at heart, an entrepreneur. His ventures spanned decades and industries, each fueled by his energy, instinct, and a tireless belief that the next great opportunity was always within reach. True to his nature, he was forever on the lookout for a clever deal—and just as quick to share the rewards. His generosity flowed freely: in kindness, in time, in helping hands, and in genuine care. Along the way, he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime—across Rhode Island and around the world—because people were drawn to his warmth, his humor, and the way he made everyone feel like the most important person in the room.
A gifted storyteller, Kevin could turn an everyday moment into a tale worth retelling. He reveled in sharing stories from his travels, business escapades, and Australian upbringing, each delivered with charm, mischief, and impeccable timing. A self-appointed food critic, he never missed the chance to offer a review—solicited or not—especially if the meal came with good company.
Above all else, Kevin loved his family with a full and loyal heart. He adored his wife, Val, whose partnership grounded him. He beamed with pride for his children and grandchildren, celebrating every accomplishment and offering unwavering support.
Kevin is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie; his children, Cathy M. Palmisano of East Greenwich, Gina M. Rossi and her husband Joey of Cranston, and Patrick T. McIntyre and his wife Heather of Shorewood, Minnesota. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren—Stephanie, Thomas, Victoria, Olivia, and Maximus—and his great-granddaughter Madeline, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy. He is also survived by his siblings, Terry McIntyre and Jane Lennon. He was predeceased by his sister, Sandra “Judy” McLeod, and by his son, Steven P. McIntyre.
His VISITATION will be held Tuesday, December 9th, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston. His funeral will begin Wednesday, December 10 at 8:45 AM, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kevin’s name to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
And for those who knew Kevin’s sense of humor: you can always put $20 on black 26 next time you’re at the casino—so long as you cut him in on the winnings.
