Kelley A. O’Connor, 62, of Cranston, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Nan K. (Kelley) and the late James E. O’Connor.
Kelley grew up in Cranston, attended and graduated from Cranston Public Schools. She was a straight-A student, a gifted artist, a musician (self-taught guitarist) and a voracious reader. She attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute for her first year of college, eventually transferring to Rhode Island College and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She was multi-faceted, modest and self-effacing with a keen intellect. She held a variety of jobs and interests but eventually returned to her calling as a social worker. She had a big heart, is much loved, and will be dearly missed.
Besides her mother, Kelley is survived by her brothers: James R. O’Connor and his wife Sheila, William O’Connor and his wife Mary, Christopher J. O’Connor and his wife Leigh; and by her dear nieces and nephews: Hannah, Ethan, Aidan, Kathleen, Joseph, MaryCatherine, and Liam, and nine great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles, and many cousins.
In honor of Kelley’s wishes, her services will be private.
