It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Julie Ellen Caron of Palm City, Florida, who entered eternal rest peacefully on Saturday, May 18th at the age of 59 in Gainesville, Florida surrounded by her loving husband, sister and her two best friends.
Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Capt. Lawrence Sr. (CFD) and Margaret Caron (Curran). Julie is survived by her husband of 10 years Dr. Thomas Simeone of Palm City, Florida.
Julie was fiercely independent from a young age with an undeniable work ethic. She worked as an x-ray technician for over 30 years before retiring and moving to Florida in 2018 where she could spend more time doing the things she loved. She was an avid reader, especially of current events. Most days she could be found enjoying her morning coffee while reading 3 newspapers. She enjoyed keeping up with the National headlines, her local Florida news and what was happening back home in Rhode Island. She enjoyed being in the know. She was so looking forward to the upcoming 2024 election. Julie loved her country!
Julie was also passionate in her kitchen. She was a talented baker and a skilled cook, there was nothing she could not whip up! She loved finding the perfect gadget or the perfect new recipe to share with her family and friends. She was kind and had a quiet generosity, never expecting anything in return. She was humble when complimented on her gifts from the kitchen. Julie was warm, witty, fun-loving, and was an unwaveringly loyal friend who was always there for everyone. She touched countless lives and will forever be missed by anyone who was lucky enough to have known her. Julie was a bright light gone too soon. In honor of Julie, a connoisseur of fine food and drink, we ask that you enjoy your favorite meal with loved ones while raising a glass to the heavens where she will undoubtedly be!
Julie is also survived by her two brothers, Daniel and wife Violet of Bridgeport, West Virginia, and Chief Lawrence Jr. (CFD) of Warwick, and her two sisters, Paula and Ellen of Cranston. She was the loving aunt of Victoria, Madeline and Chandler and great aunt of Alex and Theo, Lucy Trainor, Maria Trainor and Suzanne Trainor, Joseph Simeone, Sophia Simeone, Andrew Gagnon, Holly Gagnon, Luca Simeone and Nicholas Simeone and Godmother of John A. Saugy III. Julie was the dedicated life-long best friend to Karen Clayton and Kimbly Saugy. She also leaves behind her cherished cats, Bruno and Martha and will be reunited in heaven with her beloved American Bulldog Stella.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation Saturday morning, May 25th from 8:00am to 10:00am at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, RI followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St. Mark’s Church, Garden Court, Cranston. Entombment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, because of Julie’s love of all animals, donations may be made in her memory to Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island, P.O. Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02880 (www.animalrescueri.org).
