Judith L. Manganelli, 72, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Providence, Judith was a daughter of the late James E. and Concetta (Longo) King. She was raised in West Warwick, and resided in Cranston for most of her life.
Judith dedicated her life to helping others. She taught a generation of kids (30+ years) before retiring from teaching third grade in West Warwick. She was a fierce Boggle and Scrabble player, and everyone's favorite chef. Cooking was one of the ways she gave to others. Her macaroni and meatballs were unrivaled--as was the love she gave through cooking. We will carry on this love through her recipes and selfless example.
Judith was the beloved partner of William D. Lavoie. She was also the loving mother of Alicia M. Sullivan, and her husband Charles F. Sullivan, III, and devoted nonna to Kade and Oliver Sullivan. Besides her partner and daughter, Judith is survived by her former husband, Robert J. Manganelli, her sister Dorothy Vierra, and husband Alfred Vierra, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fifty Three: Five or the ALS Foundation .
