Joyce M. (Mendes) Smock

Joyce M. Smock (Mendes), 71, passed away peacefully Saturday November 25, 2023 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Noel A. Smock.  Born in East Providence, she was the daughter of the late Norbert and Hilda (Caldera) Mendes.

Joyce was employed by Travelers Insurance Company, where she worked in the business office. Her favorite hobbies included shopping on the Home Shopping Network, dining out, travel and she especially enjoyed cruises with her husband.

She was the sister of the late Stephen L. Mendes. Besides her husband, Joyce is survived by her Godchild, niece Valerie Quebec.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service Thursday, November 30th at 11 a.m. at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence, VISITATION Wednesday 4-7 p.m. at “WOODLAWN”.
