Joseph Pingitore III Obituary

Joseph Pingitore III, 60, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 25, 2021.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph Pingitore Jr. and Lucille (Ruggieri) Pingitore.

Joseph is survived by his three sons; Joseph Pingitore IV and his wife Nicole, Dylan Pingitore and girlfriend Stephanie and Jonathan Pingitore and girlfriend Julia. He leaves one brother, David Pingitore, and wife Lynn, and one sister, Francine Pingitore, and was the brother-in-law of the late Brad Hutchison. He was the beloved uncle of Tayla Pingitore, David Pingitore, and Brad Hutchison Jr. He is also survived by his last living Aunt, Eileen St. Angelo as well as countless cousins and friends.

In 1985, Joe started J. Pingitore & Sons Asphalt Paving. He was a perfectionist in his trade and took so much pride in his work. As a pastime, he restored dozens of antiques to pristine condition and was the President of Ocean State Vintage Haulers, an antique truck club. On top of all the antiques he fixed and collected, he was also a man who never said no when his family or friends showed up at the garage with something that was not running right. When he was not working or helping someone you could find Joe riding his Harley Davidson or taking out the corvette for a spin.

Joe’s legacy passed down from his parents, was evident in how he lived his life.  After the passing of his parents, he became the “rock” of the family. He took so much pride in the things he loved, his family being the most important.  He was an amazing father, brother, uncle, and friend. Words alone cannot describe the type of man Joe was. A man who was always willing to help, always willing to listen, and who always kept his word. He truly had a heart of gold. He will be missed deeply.

His funeral is Tuesday, November 2nd at 9:30 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 11 a.m in St. Rocco Church, Johnston. Graveside burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION Monday 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ocean State Vintage Haulers, (21a Rocky Hill Road, Smithfield RI 02917)
